Land Procurement and Building Program

I.  Introduction

Do we really need our own building and offices to offer church services? The answer is yes, and the major reasons that necessitate its implementation are:

·         It enables us to carry out sustainable mission with coagulation and hand it on to the next generation;

·         50% of the church’s income is consumed by rental expenses that could have been utilized in other areas;

·         As the trend of house rent is getting higher every day, it may remain a potential challenge for the church in the future;

·         Recurrent relocation of the church’s place has so far left nothing but frustration on members, and the inconveniency has made some of them to quite membership;

·         To bring to an end once for all the pressure we get form local people and keble administration concerning our activities.

II. Can this vision be achieved?

Yes, and the reasons are as follows:

·         God has frequently promised us to provide us with our own piece of land through His prophetic messages;

Jer 1:12   I am watching over my word to perform it.

·         Leaders and members of the church show great commitment & diligence to see this dream come true.

Num. 2:20 The God of heaven will give us success; therefore we His servants will arise and build…

III. Renewal Church: Land Procurement & Building Program

Vision:  The Renewal Church is aspiring to see a quality Church complex of its own within 5 years.

Mission: Putting all its trust on God’s provision, the Renewal Church strives with diligence to have its own church complex.

Goal:

·         Buying a land area of 1600 m² (with in locations of 22 Traffic Office to Hayat);

·         Building a quality church complex that can hold up to 550 people;

·         Building a church complex that has 10 – 15 offices & medium meeting halls;

·         Raising 5,600,000 Birr for this purpose;

·         Winding up the building within 5 years;

IV. Jobs that need to be done to meet these goals

4.1 Strategic plan development

          4.1.1 Comprehensive draft strategic plan preparation;

          4.1.2 Draft financial manual preparation;

          4.1.3 Discussion on prepared draft documents;

          4.1.4 Ratifying selected draft documents by church council.

4.2 Establishing different committees based on the pre-established structure;

4.3 Briefing the committee members & authorize the go-ahead;

4.4 Briefing Church members;

4.5 Enabling the different committees to plan within their own boundary as per the strategic plan;

4.6 Taking practical actions according to the plan;

4.7 Making ready documents that can be dispatched to donors to raise money.

Fund raising techniques

1. Fund raising techniques intended among church members in the country

·         Create awareness among members of the church so that they fully involve in the realization of the mission;

·         The Church council decides on the amount of money that the leaders & members of the Church can offer for the building and putting this contribution process into three phases according to people’s financial capacity;

2. Apart from member’s contribution, involving them in different activities such as:

·         Generating fund raising ideas;

·         Participating in fund raising activities;

·         Involving in prayers, counseling and labor.

·         Estimated amount of money that can be raised through this technique: ________

3.  Fund raising intended among church members residing abroad

·         Arranging contact addresses of these members;

·         Setting convenient team (say one in each country) and appoint a leader for each of them;

4. The church leaders gives them a call at least once & aware them about the plan;

5. Sending a formal letter for each member explaining about the vision;

6. A team that takes care & executes duties related to these members will be adopted in the structure.

Estimated amount of money that can be raised through this technique: _________

7. Apart from their contribution, involving them in different activities such as

7.1 Generating fund-raining ideas;

7.2 Participating in fund raising activities;

7.3 Involving in prayers and technical counseling;

8.  Fund raising intended among local churches & other interested churches

·         In support with ministers counsel, list names of churches that our teachers have so far minister them, and other churches that will  be willing to support the vision;

·         Send formal letter to these churches and arrange meetings through our leader;

Possible money raining techniques:

·         requesting them to give us their members’ one Sunday offering;

·         selling fund raising stickers & tickets to their members;

·         selling T-shirt & other sellable goods to their members; 

9. Fund raising intended using website 

·         Renovate the church’s website and make sure the following stuffs are in place:

·         Use the site aggressively;

·         Publish the church’s vision, faith statement and teachings (sermons);

·         Publish the vision of the fund raising;

10.  Fund raising intended using tours in different part of the world

·         Identify the countries that are going to be visited;

·         Communicate with leaders of these places and aware them about our vision;

·         Identify people from our church who can afford to go to these countries on their own expenses and /or seek another alternatives to send them as a delegate

11. Fund raising intended using art ministries

·         Call for formal meeting with leaders of art ministries and discuss on possible fund raising areas;

·         Using our own singers and involving others, publish song cassettes & VCD’S and earn money on the sell.

12. Fund raising using Christian investors & business people

·         With the help of ministers’ counsel, list names of this group of people;

·         Create appropriate ways to contact them.

13.  Applying other alternatives of fund raising
